In the film "The Truth About Abraham Lincoln" hagiography and biography are reduced to the form of a true / false quiz unfolding in un-peopled, imaginary miniature settings which attempt to provide a "place" for events while mirroring ways that Lincoln's story is often selected and constructed. These true and false statements are periodically interrupted by an actor’s reenactment of events from Lincoln’s life in which biographical portrayal and historical representation are positioned as an act of "drag" performance. |
